The hardware specifications speak for themselves- very, very fast. Pros: This is a solidly built, high-quality rig. Overall Review: I have never run into something this frustrating in ten years of using computers. I will never buy anything from iBuyPower again and you shouldn't either. I stressed to them that I did not want the system returned to me if the issue was not fixed.Īfter the system was returned, within one hour of using it, I experienced the exact same issue, and have been told I can ship it back to be repaired and not have a computer for another month. I did not have the computer for nearly a month afterward, and when I asked them what process they were using to text the system, they said they were running MASS EFFECT 2 (a ten year old game) to test a brand new video card. The second time I spoke to them, they told me I could send in the computer to be repaired. The only way to fix it was to turn off the system and turn it back on.Īfter speaking to iBuyPower initially, I was sent a new video card, which did not fix the issue. Immediately after receiving the computer, the system would lock up and freeze when playing a game.

My old editing rig from AVATAR PC is slowly dieing after about a year and a half. Overall, I've been very satisfied with it so far. If only DDR4 wasn't so overpriced right now! If you want to set it up for video editing, you are probably going to want to add another HDD and another stick of RAM. If you are getting this PC for gaming, you are going to be set.

Screaming deal at the time with the components that are inside it, as well as professional assembly. Overall Review: Got the PC on sale for 1699 which was 450 dollars off (December 4th, 2014). Went ahead and put in another 3TB HDD within minutes. Either way, adding another HDD is really easy with this case. If you aren't into video editing, and don't have movies that you plan to store on the HDD, the 1TB is probably going to be plenty for you. Read/Write speed is about 500 / 300mb, which is a bit lower than the current Samsung SSDs which float around 520 / 450.

* Came with a reinstall disc for windows 8.1.Ĭons: * 16GB of RAM is a little thin for video editing. * The little wifi dongle that they have inside the PC gets great signal However If you do it manually, the 5820k can typically run at about 4.5ghz and be stable. All you need to do is click "on" in the BIOS and the mobo does the rest. It goes ahead and ups the clock on your 5820k from 3.3ghz to 3.8ghz and adjusts the voltages appropriately. It also has an auto overclocking feature, so if you are nervous about overclocking, you can just use the OC GENIE feature. * The BIOS that comes with the motherboard is simple yet detailed enough. Especially since before I had an AMD FX-8350 that was using a stock fan! Make sure you remove it before you turn on your PC for the first time! * The inside stuffing that they use to keep the components in place during shipment is one of the coolest things I've ever seen. Never had this before, but it is surprisingly stable! * Tooless mounting for new HDDs and SSDs. * Side panels for each side come off with some simple finger screws. Which is much nicer for overclocking that 5820k * The PSU is actually a 800W instead of the 700w they have listed.
